Magnolia Cottage: A Heritage Stay at Holumba Haven

Step into history at Magnolia Cottage, the oldest and most cherished retreat at Holumba Haven. Built in 1937, this heritage gem offers a blend of timeless charm and modern accessibility. Located at the lowest level of the property near the car parking area, it is ideal for guests seeking convenience without compromising on tranquility.

A Cottage with History and Hear Surrounded by an avenue of Magnolia Grandiflora trees, Magnolia Cottage exudes serenity and character. In the 1950s, the Ven. Bikshu Sangharakshita resided here and affectionately named it “The Hermitage (Magnolia),” referring to it as his personal Garden of Eden in his book Facing Mount Kanchenjunga. The all-wooden structure showcases vintage charm, offering a cozy yet spacious ambiance that resonates with history.

A Tranquil and Accessible Retreat With its proximity to the car parking area, Magnolia Cottage is perfect for guests with mobility concerns or those seeking easy access. While its location brings a touch of liveliness, the cottage remains a peaceful haven surrounded by greenery, magnolia-lined pathways, and awe-inspiring views of the Himalayan peaks.

Whether you’re drawn by its heritage, convenient location, or ability to accommodate larger groups, Magnolia Cottage promises a truly unique and memorable stay at Holumba Haven.
